Administrative Committee Summaries

Committees may be composed of members of the Board of Directors, association members, and others who may be appointed by the Chairman of the Board with the approval of the Board. Each committee member shall serve a two-year term and may request to be appointed to additional two-year terms. The following are brief summaries of the committee missions and any special requirements for participation in addition to the one meeting per year.

Executive Committee
Mission: To assist the board in overseeing the affairs of the association.

Annual Conference Committee
Mission: To provide insight and support to the organization and development of the annual conference in accordance with direction of the board of directors.
Composition: The committee shall include a representative from each of the technical councils, one board liaison, and four at-large members of the association.

Audit Committee
Mission: To receive and review the annual audit report and make a recommendation to the FMA Board for approval or non-approval.

Awards Committee
Mission: To meet as required to receive award nominations and to select recipients for the Honorary Life Membership Award, Fabricating Industry’s Award of Excellence, and Outstanding Contribution to the FMA Education Activities Award.

Bylaws Committee
Mission: To review the bylaws and make recommendations for amendments where appropriate.

Compensation Committee
Mission: To advise the FMA President & CEO on matters relating to staff compensation and benefits.

Education Committee
Mission: To provide short and long term strategic direction for all educational activities of the association in accordance with the strategic plan outlined by the board of directors.
Special Note: Members may be asked to attend conferences for critical review purposes or to assist in identification of conference topics/speakers.

Finance Committee
Mission: To review current financial activities, forecasts, and budgets; review and approve future budgets; and recommend policies and procedures regarding financial activities.

Investment Committee
Mission: To review and monitor FMA investments and make recommendations regarding the FMA investment programs to the board of directors.

Membership Committee
Mission: To provide advise and counsel on membership programs pertaining to new member recruitment and the renewal of members; recommend and evaluate new member benefits and services; and submit recommendations to the staff and board of directors as necessary.
Special Note: Members may be asked to assist staff in special outreach efforts to recruit and retain FMA and TPA members.

Nominating Committee
Mission: To select candidates or officers for the FMA Board of Directors.

Safety Committee
Mission: To provide members and the industry with assistance on relevant safety and related environmental issues through educational programs, expositions, publications, and other means as required to improve workplace safety.
